Usually the gym will give you atleast one session free of charge, to show you the equipment and how to use it. Just ask them. Tell them this is new for you. I'm sure they will help.

I started out alone, and lost the first 50/60 alone just by walking on the treadmill and eating right.I started working out with my trainer after sort of hitting a plateau and have since lost 40 ish more pounds since July, and my body has changed dramatically.I literally feel that my body has been remolded, my arms were beginning to be flabby, no more.I was sure I'd need a Tummy Tuck after losing all this weight, and now Im pretty sure I won't.she guides me, teaches me and holds me accountable for my weight. I know that I love having my trainer && even though it costs an arm and a leg for me to meet with her 3x a week, I love it'

I have had three back surgeries in my L4/L5 and have degenerative arthritis in that same area. I still have back pain. I want to work with a trainer but am worried that they will not be properly trained for people with back issues. Any Ideas?

I have a personal trainer and love it. She's great! Really keeps me motivated and accountable. I haven't learned to love the workouts but I love the results. I do weights with her 4 days a week for 1/2 hr and cardio on my own about 5 days. It is well worth the investment!

I now have a personal trainer and love her. I started walking and doing some stuff at home and I lost 40 then I wanted more so I found one that is great. She keeps me motivated and on track. She pushes me harder and farthur then I think I would on my own. I have lost another 25 lbs in 8 weeks and have lost tons of inches. I also found one that had back problems and needed surgery but she started training and was taught how to stregthen her back and now she doesn't need surgery. She now helps others achieve their goals. I know it is expensive but mine gives deals if you have friends that want to train. So three of us go together and it makes it alot cheaper and then we all stay on each other to stay on track. Hang in there it will be great.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
