Hi, im from Vineland. Are you excited? Nervous? Ill say I had a ruff go at it the first few days but that's due to a very low pain tolerence but iv already lost at least 15 pounds!

i am so excited and anxious, but to me honest, for a bit there, all the negative posts were getting to me. alot of posts about bandsters that are two years out and they have gained all of their weight back. i didn't think that was possible to do that. i thought for a second that the band was going to stop me from eating but my doctor told me that if I do not eat my calories, I will be fine. I am promising myself to stay away from any creamed Soups or ice cream shakes. I am going to take it one day at a time, just like any other addict, because I am addicted to foods and always made bad decisions in the past and will make a effort everyday to think about what i am going to eat and plan every meal. congrats to you on your success and i hope that you feel better each day and continue your journey to a smaller you. keep in touch.

Iv seen alot of negatives too but I honestly don't think that's the norm. A girl I went to highschool with had hers 4 yrs ago to the day of my band and one year later she looked awesome! Had lost like 130 lbs and still keeps it off and then some. She has been an inspiration.

RedChic thanks for sharing your success thus far. i am from central jersey and im in the beginning stages of the whole process. i have met with my surgeon for a consult and i meet him again on Friday, i did my psych evaluation, and i meet with my nutrionist next Monday. i got my letter of medical necessity last Friday so i am making moves but still excited and scared all at once. i have board here i check on the regular because its people who have the same insurance as me, there are highs and lows there so i try to just take it a day at a time. you have lost 15lbs already in a week? gosh you are my inspiration. keep going and keeping us updated

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
