So I was banded the end of June and I have been back to old eating habits. Sometimes I wish I had gastric bypass because there are so many foods that you can not eat. I have found that I can eat the same foods as before I was banded. Since I can eat them I have been cheating. I have not gained weight but I also have not lost weight in the past few months. So I decided it was time to get help. Before I had surgery I had to meet with an eating behavioralist and I did great, she is really good. Now I started to meet with her again. I am ashamed that I broke the rules but feel good that I am getting back on track and taking charge again.

Your making changes though by going to see the eating behavioralist. That's the first step in making changes. If it's something you shouldn't be eating cake, Cookies, or candy get it out of your house. This will and can still work for you. You fell off the wagon stand up dust yourself off and move on. Don't beat yourself up. Also every day is a new day! Best of luck to you!

Getting proffessional help is a huge step! Congratulations on that! Don't beat yourself up about a past you can't change, just look at what you can do in the future. Every day- every meal actually- is a chance to make healthy choices.

Thanks, it is nice to have a place with lots of support and that I feel like I can be held accountable for my actions regarding my band.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
