I havent been banded yet but I was thinking of maybe combining the two. I have read that a few people on here do it. Check out skinnytaste.com for recipies!!! They have yummy homemade stuff that is high in protien/fibre and has the points listed on each recipe!!

I could never have done the 2 combined. My diet was and is too restrictive for that. I can't eat raw veggies, or most veggies. They want a lot of veggies.

I can't eat their portions or bread, even the exchanges would be tough for me. But good luck if you can do it! Karen

Go to the food/nutrition section of the boards. There is a whole thread dedicated to ww.

I did weight watchers off and on for a while, didn't work for me. I just wasn't ready. I do believe it is a very healthy program and the meetings are almost a form of therapy. I suggest you try it, while tweeking the diet to be band friendly. Keep us posted on how it goes. Oh, one more thing. You may not want to metion you are banded, I have heard WW is pretty against it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
