I just started posting last night and you guys are a wealth of knowledge :winner: Are there any low BMI-ers? My BMI is 33, i'm 5'2 181lbs (today  ) i would like to lose 55lbs. Is there anyone else wanting to lose in that weight range? Oh and I just found out on ASBS website that weight loss will reduce Migraines. I have suffered from migraines since forever. They have gotten worse with the weight I've been carrying for the last 7 years. Once I was in the hospital for a week for a Migraine. I'm trying to avoid that ever happening again. Back to my question  any one esle with a low BMI and needing a 55 lb weight loss?

:Banane06: yay!!! (LOVE this guy!)

yeah, i was considering Lipo at first, but then i thought it would be better to get to the source of the problem rather than cover it up. i'm in korea and going to a surgeon that i know at least one other poster on this site uses, so that makes me feel really good about the procedure. i'll let you know how things go. my biggest worries are what to eat in the first few weeks...i know i'll be on liquids a while and i'm going to try to go back to work pretty quicly after the surgery...and i'm not telling people at work- only one person knows other than my boyfriend. so, that's going to make it a little tricky...and i'm visiting my famiily and friends in the US about 3 weeks after the surgery. i'm still undecided on telling them, but it will be AFTER the fact if i do.

good luck to you!! let me know how the seminar goes!

When I first started looking into surgery, my BMI was hovering around 40. On the day my paperwork was submitted to my insurance company it was 35.1 (if I had lost 2 more pounds I would not have been able to use insurance!) On the day of my surgery my BMI was 32 and my goal is to lose an additional 55 pounds. I am now 2 weeks out and loving it. I am already able to stop taking one of my blood pressure medications so this is something I will not regret. Good luck on your journey!

Hi I'm Lorianne. I'm 5'2.5" weigh 189 as of this morning and my BMI is 33. (on liquid diet currently)

I started out as a 38.6 eleven months ago when I started this process.

I will be banded at 2:30pm on Tuesday, October 11th.

I would like to lose 50-60lbs but truly I'd be satisfied with losing and maintaining a 35lb loss.

I've yo-yo'd 301-185 over the past few years and while I can lose the weight I can't seem to make it stay off! I've done everything from the cabbage Soup diet to opti-fast and everything under the sun in between.

My goal... Get healthy and fit and STAY THAT WAY!

Bands work GREAT for low BMIers! I firmly belleve that obese is obese is obese and that if you've gotten to 33, you will probably get fatter - so why wait? Prevention is better than cure, you're more mobile and probably fitter, and you say you want to lose 50ish pounds but the thing is, I ended up losing WAY past the top of my heatlhy weight range - I had a BMI of 36 and about 80lb to lose - but I lost 120 - I went past what I consider 'meh, not fat anymore' to really nice and slender.

My BMI is 32.6 and I am looking to have the lap band surgery. I have located a surgeon locally. I am going to a seminar on Oct 27, 2011 & I will start my journey from there. I know I will be self pay. I am a Registered Nurse and have done intensive research and I have decided this is the best option for me.

Good luck to you ........

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
