I have a super recipe for chicken and it's so easy to prepare. Take 2-4 oz of chicken wash and dry well. Take 3 whole wheat crackers crush them to a fine like bread crumb add to the crumbs garlic and onion powders. Dip chicken in egg whites and roll into bread crumbs. Spray into the botton of the baking pan and Bake at 350 for 40 mins or until done. Serve with veggies. Soooo good. Enjoy

Mmm, that sounds really wonderful! I'm just starting my second week of my pre-op liquid diet. chicken has always been a staple of mine, and right now that sounds absolutely wonderful!

I'll be sure to make it when I'm back on solids!

Mushy can be difficult cos everything has to be grounded down. I bought a small cuisinart blender. I use it every day. Specially after surgery.

Be delighted to Arlene. For veggies- I cooked carrots, peas, cauliflower or corn and purée them in my small cuisinart. ( a must have for all lap bands and sleevers). For chicken I cooked thighs in boiling Water and put low fat chicken stock in the water. Cooked till tender and let cool. Once cooled I mixed in my cuisinart the pulled chicken from the thighs with a veryyyy small dab of light mayo and blended till purée. It's " delish". For salmon - I cooked a small piece of salmon with alittle lemon juice and salt ( for taste). After cooled I purée it like the chicken. fruit - I took fresh peaches sliced with skin peeled and purée. You want to stay away from anything heavy like steak or hamburger meat. What I did for deserts I purée strawberries and then froze them into pops. That felt so soothing going down my throat.

Another good trick is to eat slowwwww. Eating to fast will only give you pain. Another food I liked was cream of wheat. I bought the instant 2 minute box. Add a spray of substitute butter a pinch of salt to taste and you got yourself a decent Breakfast. oatmeal made mushy is also good but you need to make sure the oats are really soft. Make the oatmeal alittle on the soupy side. Watermelon is another refreshing fruit I purée. It's sweet tastes food and it's not hard to digest.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
