Anyone use Care Credit for financing?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking into lap band but my insurance doesn't cover it. I was approved for financing through care credit, but wanted some feedback first. Anyone have any feedback on care credit? I live in TX

I used Care Credit and did the 6 month, no interest plan. Check with your surgery center and doctor's office to see which of the Care Credit plans they accept. I found out at my pre-op appointment that even though Care Credit approved me for the 18 month no interest option, my doctor's office only accepted the 6 month plan. Jerks! I was pretty mad. We did the 6 month and then applied for a Discover credit card and did a no fee, 0% interest for 1 year balance transfer to that card.

Thanks for the info. I just did some research on care credit and have found some pretty awful reviews. Kinda hesitant about using them. Did you have any issues with them?

I am in Texas too. i used care credit so far so good i received the low interest over 4 years i am making double payments because it i went that route it would be $3,000 in interest. I set up auto pay to prevent any forgetting on my part. My Mom used care credit for some dental work and she said it was fine. I dont care if i do have to pay on this awhile it has been the best thing i have done i just wish i would have done it sooner

Do you mind if I ask how much your payments are?

My cost was $9,900 my minimum payment is $235 if you go to the care credit website breakdown payments and options but every doctor is different on which option they will give you on the care credit because it does cost them money to take the care credit

Do you mind if I ask how much your payments are?

I used Care Credit for my eye surgery and am planning on using it for my Lap Band surgery. I haven't had any problems - had a 2-yr 0% interest plan, so I paid it off. I don't know what the terms are going to be for the Lap Band surgery yet, but since I'm determined to do this, it pretty much doesn't make any difference at this point.

You have to make sure which one your doc takes, but I used HealthOne. The interest rate was lower for me with them. My min. monthly pmt was around $100, but I made very large payments and paid it off in about 18 months (9,995).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
