Dallas_diva 0 Posted October 9, 2011 I'm looking into lap band but my insurance doesn't cover it. I was approved for financing through care credit, but wanted some feedback first. Anyone have any feedback on care credit? I live in TX
isit5yet 37 Posted October 9, 2011 I used Care Credit and did the 6 month, no interest plan. Check with your surgery center and doctor's office to see which of the Care Credit plans they accept. I found out at my pre-op appointment that even though Care Credit approved me for the 18 month no interest option, my doctor's office only accepted the 6 month plan. Jerks! I was pretty mad. We did the 6 month and then applied for a Discover credit card and did a no fee, 0% interest for 1 year balance transfer to that card.
Dallas_diva 0 Posted October 9, 2011 Thanks for the info. I just did some research on care credit and have found some pretty awful reviews. Kinda hesitant about using them. Did you have any issues with them?
olivepickles 13 Posted October 9, 2011 I am in Texas too. i used care credit so far so good i received the low interest over 4 years i am making double payments because it i went that route it would be $3,000 in interest. I set up auto pay to prevent any forgetting on my part. My Mom used care credit for some dental work and she said it was fine. I dont care if i do have to pay on this awhile it has been the best thing i have done i just wish i would have done it sooner
Dallas_diva 0 Posted October 9, 2011 Do you mind if I ask how much your payments are?
olivepickles 13 Posted October 9, 2011 My cost was $9,900 my minimum payment is $235 if you go to the care credit website breakdown payments and options but every doctor is different on which option they will give you on the care credit because it does cost them money to take the care credit Do you mind if I ask how much your payments are? sandybraman 18 Posted December 19, 2011 I used Care Credit for my eye surgery and am planning on using it for my Lap Band surgery. I haven't had any problems - had a 2-yr 0% interest plan, so I paid it off. I don't know what the terms are going to be for the Lap Band surgery yet, but since I'm determined to do this, it pretty much doesn't make any difference at this point. Formerly Fluffy 5 Posted December 30, 2011 I have thought about checking into them. They seem to be one of the leaders in med financing.< /p>
Humming Bird 275 Posted December 30, 2011 You have to make sure which one your doc takes, but I used HealthOne. The interest rate was lower for me with them. My min. monthly pmt was around $100, but I made very large payments and paid it off in about 18 months (9,995).
