pugmum 0 Posted February 8, 2006 I'm driving myself batty with what I can and cannot have since being banded on 2/2. I just do not want to mess something up! I have been drinking/sipping Protein Shakes since surgery. I mix the powder with Water, not milk, and each package has 41 grams of Protein. Then, though, I was reading about staying on "clear liquids" for 3 weeks and my Protein Drink is surely not a clear liquid, but how would you get the protein you need through a clear liquid? Thanks, Kelli
tpierce98664 0 Posted February 8, 2006 Hi Kelli, I had surgery right after you on 2/2 and had the pleasure of meeting your sister and husband in the waiting room. I can give you a sample of what i have been drinking: A.M.: strawberry GNC whey gold mixed in a blender w/soy milk for extra Protein. Lunch: R-kane Soup (found on line) high in Protein. Cream of chicken is the best. Snack:sugar free cherry Jello (jello brand )others are yucky.1 container P.M.: Choc or Van. GNC whey mixed in blender with Water Snack:sugar free popsicle (popsicle brand) I spoke to Kristi regarding "clear" liquids it really means liquid with no chunks or other materials...liquid you can easily sip through a straw. Remember to drink lots of water..once in a while i slip in alittle diet snapple. Good luck to you!!!! Tina
pugmum 0 Posted February 8, 2006 Tina, NO WAY! That's cool, they told me they met another bandste! Sounds like you're eating about what I am except I have regular Campbell's Soup. That clarification is what I've been looking for regarding "clear liquids." Dr. Feng did say in an email to him that I shouldn't have anything creamy which excludes many Soups, but before I knew that I ate some cream of chicken soup which went down great! :biggrin1: I have read here though that many are going to mushies in the third week. Quite honestly, I feel great, just a little dizzy now and then. So, are you waiting until the third week to eat "cream of" Soups? Here's my home email if you want to touch base. kellib1@comcast.net Where you in the recovery room right when I came out of surgery? I remember a woman with blondish/brown hair?
