m1aman 944 Posted November 25, 2011 For Thanksgiving I had sardines, Protein Shakes and the crumbs from the bottom of a bag of potato chips.. Better than nothing.
cpagan 2 Posted November 26, 2011 For Thanksgiving I had turkey, ham, dressing, sweet potatoes and a small piece of pumpkin pie. But later I had turkey, cranberry, sweet potatoes. I blew it. Yesterday was DH's birthday so I had a grilled hamburger, chips and cheesecake. I'm ready to throw all of the leftovers away except for the meat. I know that I'll keep eating on them until they are gone. So today I clean out the refrigerator!

steelerfan 5 Posted November 26, 2011 i am an october bandster...banded 10/25/11, i have to say, Thanksgiving was a complete victory, but mentally disappointing. I was not able to eat much of anything...i had about 2oz of turkey first, then a tiny bit of stuffing and broccoli quiche, then i was completely full and unable to enjoy any other part of the feast. I do consider the day a victory because i could just imagine how much i would normally have eaten!! But, I think its going to take a little time to mentally adjust to not being able to eat the foods i used to love. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these posts and having the "october" group is cool because everyone is at the nearly same point in the process. Thanks for the support, Lisa
Trac75 0 Posted November 26, 2011 Now that Im on real food I've gained and my only restriction is in my head. Cant wait for my first fill on Tuesday!
DebHart71 3 Posted November 26, 2011 I didn't do too bad either but I really couldn't list what I ate; I can say that I ate a heck of a lot less than what I used to. I am also scheduled to have my first fill on 11/30 and I am looking forward to it. I also anticipate the surgeon clearing me for exercise so I will need to get into a routine. thebandedman 3 Posted November 26, 2011 I was banded on 10/25/11 so I have no fill yet and not sure if I'll need one in 11 days which is my 1st opportunity. I sampled what I wanted on Thanksgiving, gained a pound and burned it off in the gym Friday. Just got home home a great workout at the gym this morning to complete my 210 exercise minutes per week. I continue to be amazed at how well my band is working and that four small meals a day keep me satisfied. TBM
LB4Me 35 Posted November 26, 2011 I did pretty good over Thanksgiving. In fact the scale this morning showed 1.5 lbs lost. Usually we turn the leftovers into pot pies. Not this year. Tonight I plan on chopping up the leftover turkey and stirfrying with some chopped veggies and having turkey fajitas in lettace wraps. What are you doing with your leftovers? Jennifer S 0 Posted November 26, 2011 I'm glad everyone had a pretty good thanksgiving. I had a little bit of the things that were important and made a sugar free pumpkin pie so I had a desert I really liked. The biggest victory.... my husband gained 2 lbs and I lost 1 so I am for the first time in our marriage at a lower weight than him. It was my first big goal and he kept losing so the goal kept moving. I'm so excited! I did 2 big workouts of an hour each this weekend so hopefully I can stay less than him. hightower 1 Posted November 27, 2011 Wow I leave for a week and everything is different on the site. Pretty happy with myself for keeping with small plates, small portions, and lots of Water. Thanksgiving apps:shrimp with guacamole, brie, mini fillet minion in puff pastry, and pumpkin Soup. Actual meal was: ham, turkey, asparagus, sauteed kale, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes. Now the cocktails on the other hand...not as successful. ..need to work on that! Didn't loose nor gain...so I'll take it.
thinnerJT 0 Posted November 28, 2011 I had my first fill last Monday (November 21). I got 1 cc of Fluid and it hurt like hell! It took the doctor 4 tries to get the needle in - he said the port was "encapsulated"? Anyone ever heard of this? What do I do? Is it going to hurt every time I get a fill?
