funygurl 0 Posted October 10, 2011 OHHHH by the way has anyone thought about setting goals? I believe amyrose said she wanted to do a 5K which is also in my future but was wondering if people had thought about setting weight loss goals by certain dates or any thing like that yet? I want to just to keep it like a competition with myself (nothing to be discouraged about if I don't reach it) but I've already lost weight and wasn't sure if it's a good idea to do now or wait until I know how fast my body will be losing.... but if starting it now I'm not sure if I should set for something like thanksgiving or new years or both??? Just wondering what you guys were thinking/planning!!! Cheryl
Nicole0425 1 Posted October 10, 2011 I had my surgery Oct 6 th and it went as it should. The pain meds they gave me in were not initially working and the nurses finally started listening after I got real nasty with them. Other then that everything in the hospital was good. My biggest complain is the gas OMG THE GAS!!!!! I'm 4 days post op and it's still killing me! It travels around my lungs and it make fill like I can't breath at times. I have used Gas X and walked and walked and walked a ton, but it's still trapped. I pray every day and night to just burp or fart and get it out already. Otherwise I feel pretty good, my insicion where my port is is really the only sore spot, so I super happy about that. I am finding it very hard to get in all the Water and Protein shake my doctor said I should be drinking. 64 oz of Water and 32 oz of Protein shakes. I find this hard at the point, maybe when more swelling goes down I'll do better. How about everyone else any problems getting your water and Protein Shakes in for the day? "AmyRose" 2 Posted October 10, 2011 The gas is my issue aswell today. I am back at work and have to get up and walk about every 10 min to keep it in check. I have not had pain meds sence sat. If there were pain meds for gas I would be taking them. Nichole0425 My doctor said to include the shakes as part of my liquids. Hope that helps. Sorry you didnt get great pain control at first. Everyone let set a goal. Not a wt goal. A fitness goal. We are doing this for out health so lets start off on the right foot with fitness or a nutritional goal. Yes we will all have wt loss but we have to go deeper than that.

Poppie'sMouse 0 Posted October 10, 2011 Hey guys, I was banded on the 4th. I feel great! No more gas thank goodness. My port site is very tender other incisions are fine. How often are you guys changing your bandages? I've been doing it everyday when I get out of the shower. Is that normal?? Also I have had my tummy grumble like its hungary, but I take a couple sips of Water and I am good.. Feels funny though. I'm not allowed Protein shakes til next week. Only Water, broth and Jello and juice for me.

Maybe ask your doctor cause it might be different. Mine is 32 oz protien shake divided up into eight times a day, which turns into 4 oz 8 times a day. Right now its very hard for me to get all that in, but that will change in due time. I'd check with your doctor just like not everyones pre op diets were the same either. Good luck ! Jennifer S 0 Posted October 11, 2011 For those of you who have had surgery and have kids, how long do you think I will need before I can pick up and care for my 15 month old? I have help for the first 5 days, but need to make sure I don't need to find someone after that?

thinnerJT 0 Posted October 11, 2011 Hi and congratulations to everyone! I was banded Oct. 4th, and came home the next day. I've been on a liquid diet since - Water, Protein shakes, broth - so I've been getting really tired about an hour after I "eat". The hardest part is watching everyone else eat all my favorite foods! I have lost 6.5 pounds in the week since surgery, so that makes it easier to hang on. I'm really out of shape - any ideas for fitness goals?

I have help for the first 5 days, but need to make sure I don't need to find someone after that? Ask your Surgeon on that ! Just be careful ! You don't need HERNIA REPAIR. It would be a very long time before you could pick that Baby up........ I know from my own experience. So find someone to help, or higher someone for a while. I'm sure they would appreciate a job. Kristie Lee 0 Posted October 11, 2011 I was banded on the 6th.. I came home feeling good.. A little gassy and had these killer heartburn pain, but that is pretty much all gone now.. Yesterday, I introduced some 0 fat Greek yogurt and sugar-free pudding, and still doing the broth. My problem now is the diarrhea.. It is beyond horrible and my stomach is so upset I have no desire to eat or drink anything... My post-op diet told me I could have low fat yogurt and sugar-free pudding.. Is this not good? Is this normal due to introducing foods after over 3 weeks of liquids??
