jcoleman 1 Posted January 3, 2012 I'm having a Tummy Tuck on Jan 24, I was 275 with my last pregnancy and am now 147. My plastic surgeon said there was a 99% chance my insurance would not cover it because I have had no rashes, etc. and my skin wasn't excessive enough on it's own (though it is pretty significant). Thankfully my plastic surgeon submits all claims to insurance for pre-auth "just in case" they will cover it... And they approved it! Well they'll pay for a panniculectomy (sp?) and I'm paying the difference for the full TT, I can't wait!!! 1 Hooghunt reacted to this
rosstheboss 21 Posted January 10, 2012 Hi was just told today that they removed 12 lbs! Wow no only wish I was 12 lbs less than the day of surgery! Christmas did not help, actually down 10 since surgery but my goal is 10 lbs less than I am now.
PrtyAntOvrYt 6 Posted January 15, 2012 Skin doesn't weigh much at all. My TT was 13 and my arms were 6. I just had a LBL and Thigh Lift with full face in May and it was another 13 lbs. The thing that is cool about plastic surgery for some patients is that it increases your metabolism. I was starving and ate a lot post operatively. Mostly Protein because I wanted to aide with my healing. And I lost 24 lbs the first time and 18lbs the second time. I was really swollen due to all the collateral circulation. I am so happy with my work. I had it done in Monterrey with Dr Francisco Sauceda, He's the best! Very experienved with Massive Weight Loss patients, all inclusive, full service hospital and two week stay at the Hampton Inn with an RN who visits every morning to help you shower and redress your incisions! I'm going back for my breasts and upper body work soon. I've lost over 250lbs with the Lap Band and I am a whole new person! BTW, the best part about Dr Sauceda besides his bedside manner and excellent skills - is he charges 1/3 of what I was quoted here in the states! 1 flrosie reacted to this
khath0620 20 Posted January 24, 2012 So, my plastic surgeon took off 4 pounds. She only expected 2-3 so I figure this is a win! I am still very swollen, lumpy and bumpy so I can't wrap my head around what I will eventually look like. Feeling pretty well though so far. Take care, Katie
schell75 1 Posted January 24, 2012 I had a TT on th 10th, it was 5lbs taken off. It is my 2wks today since surgery feeling better but a lot tougher recovery then anticipated. Kudos to you that have done more then one procedure, I don't think I could do another. 1 mauraclegg reacted to this

Shalee04 7 Posted March 8, 2013 I had an extended Tummy Tcuk with anchor cut and he took off almost 9 lbs.
ttny007 29 Posted March 9, 2013 I also had the no drain method and love it! I'm one week post op and my PS was shocked to see how great I'm doing. Pilates is what helped me so much, not just leading up to the surgery but afterwards to. My arms and core are stronger for lifting myself. One week out an PS said I look like someone 3 weeks out. I'm down to only one pain pill and on day 6 I went to target! Walk walk walk and lots of Water it really helps speed up recovery, I'm already standing up straight! 2012 359 Posted March 9, 2013 When should you start looking at getting a Tummy Tuck? I have the rash problem and would eventually like to get this removed, but have no clue when to start looking into it.
Rebecca Cain Salpacka 100 Posted March 9, 2013 My Lapband surgeon said that she wouldnt even suggest looking into PS until at least 1 year after i reach my goal weight and have maintained it. I still have at least anohter year to year and half before i reach goal...so will be long while before i can have PS. I have had the rashes since before my band, and have them more so now..so im hoping that insurance will cover it when i do. 1 2012 reacted to this
ttny007 29 Posted March 9, 2013 I didn't ask him how much the skin weighed that he took off. If your trying to get your insurance to pay, you have to jump through hoops, document monthly with the dr the rashes and they said you have to maintain a hundred pound weight loss for a year. I suggest you call your insurance company and ask they since every one is different. I self paid and my band surgery was June 2011. I lost 110 pounds I am 10 pounds from my goal which is 145. Hope this helps
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted March 11, 2013 I had a 4 inch flap of skin for lack of a better term.... And my Tummy Tuck took off 10 oz.... I was amazed but the dr said there was no fat behind it and skin just doesn't weigh that much. I was disappointed but thrilled with the results so not too worried about how much that skin weighed. I am almost 3 months post op from my tt and breast lift. 2 ttny007 and Cazzy reacted to this
