Dr. Michael Feiz - How are you enjoying the new YOU!!

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Maddy... I had my surgery July 13th of this year and I am doing fantastic with the "new me". Love that I can now excercise without getting out of breath. Love that my clothes are getting bigger and bigger as I get smaller and smaller. I hit a plateau this week and I am feeling frustrated... any tips?

Hi Maddy, it's great that you are feeling so good about yourself. I love exercising now, too. In fact, I cycled home from work last night, 27km, and got caught in the rain. It just made me ride faster!

Don't worry if your weight hasn't changed for just a week. It's not long enough to call it a plateau just yet. If the scales don't move after a couple of weeks, try mixing up your diet and/or exercise routine to get it all going for you again.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it. Mixing up the diet is a super idea and I will do that. I was also thinking that I would add on an additional 15 mins to my nightly walks.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
