Has anyone just not ever felt hungry? I have been really busy the past few weeks and forget to eat. Now even when I am at home I forget to eat because I am just not hungry. I am only three months out and just got my third fill today.

I am 10 1/2 months post op and I have probably only felt actual real hunger half a dozen times since my surgery. Many times I go without eating through the day because I would rather go home and eat a good healthy meal rather than grab something quick and easy on the run. My surgeon says "Don't eat if you are not hungry." I know that is not what most surgeons say, so follow your surgeon's advice, but it has worked for me as I am down a little over a hundred pounds since surgery. Good luck to you on your journey!!!

If I'm busy I can go all day without eating and not feel hungry - which tells me my band is working. But at home, I'm "hungry" all the time. I would never forget to eat!

I had the not hungry never think about food thing for about 4 months after my surgery, over which time I was gradually filling - but the head hunger and general appetite returned for me - its hard to tell when you have a band, you get used to a new normal but I am not as bad as I used to be. But to go from lunch to dinner not eating on a home day is a major achievement for me - generally about 4pm I want to raid the biscuit tin.

I have felt this same way. You really summed it all up for me. I guess I am just concerned that if I eat too few calories I will not lose. I have decided to go back to my eating specialist for help on getting back on track in and out of the home.

i can tell the difference between head hunger and real body hunger, but i always have both.

Im trying to change my timing for eating so that i do not pig out at night. maybe a early Breakfast and a snack throughout the day will help my night time snack attacks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
