I"ve stalled out...major plateau

Recommended Posts

Ok so I am in the green zone. I have lost a great amount of weight and I am totally satisfied about that. Here is the problem. I have hit a wall and have been at at for 4 months or so. I work out hard and I eat right. I need to lose about 20 more pounds. I run about 1.5 miles a day and light weight lifting. sit ups, push ups and jumping jacks are all in the mix....now, why have I stopped? I mean day to day the scale is the same. I have turned up the exercising to try and jump start the loss, but nothing. any ideas?

i know you say you are in the Green zone, but when was your last fill? Maybe you need a little tweak to jump start things?

My only thoughts might be that you aren't taking in enough calories for all your working out/running?? How much are you consuming in a day? Do you log everything, are you drinking enough Water? These are only thoughts I have, not trying to be overbearing. Also, I heard yesterday about the 5 day pouch test. Have you ever tried that? I thought about it to give me a jump start again.

I've done the 5-day pouch test several times, and it is the perfect jump start to get you off a plateau. It takes you through the post-surgery food phases in 5 days - 2 days liquids, 1 day mushies, 1 day soft Protein, and 1 day firm protein. Works liek a charm for me every time! Everything you need is one the website: http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html.

All of these are great ideas.. the other one I can think of is changing up your exercise routine.. instead of running to some more strength training... I hear a lot of people say we need to keep switching up the exercise if we want to keep losing.

Good luck!

:)I was thinking the same thing-your exercise routine might need some tweaking. I am not sure what kind of health your body is in or your age, but 1.5 miles a day isn't enough. Also how long does it take you to walk it? If you have been working out for a while and not increases your routine that could be a cause. At this point I would highly suggest in interviewing a few personal trainers. Yes, interview them prior to selecting one and make sure they have no band bias. I know they are pricey but it could make a difference.

Also, I agree that a teeny fill might be necessary to help.

Good luck and congratualtions for such a great weight loss!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
