Lisa75 3 Posted October 5, 2011 What all did you have for your Pre op diet? I'd like to do a week or two of a liver shrinking diet. I've seen some do different things, was just curious. also what kind of Protein Shakes did everyone do or have? thanks
KBaum 7 Posted October 5, 2011 Hi Lisa! My surgeon has me on a 'full' liquid diet. Basically anything drinkable and nothing that needs to be chewed. Water, broth, coffee, milk, yogurt, Protein shakes, cream Soups, pureed veggies, applesauce, 100% fruit or veggie juice, SF Jello or pudding, sherbert. Also hot Cereal including Malt o Meal, Cream of wheat, Coco wheats but NOT oatmeal - too sticky. I've noticed it is very similar if not the same as Stage 2 Post Op. I bought the whey Protein they have at Sams/Walmart. I bought vanilla so I could blend with yogurt, milk, berries (also adding sugar free Jello powder adds flavor if you're out of berries). Good luck to you! I've been on the above for a week and a half and have lost 10lbs.
