Hi I just had my surgery friday the 30th. I need to know if this is normal. Everytime I swallow even my own saliva it hurts soooo bad! Every time I swallow I feel like a burp is coming up but it gets stuck and feels like its going to explode and wont come out! I keep getting like indigestion hiccups! Please give me advice!

Tonya,

I feel the same way. We had surgery the same day and I have been having the hiccups and painful swallowing. My issue is phlem and my dr suggested mucinex. I am still haviing stomach pain, but i guess that is normal.

Pain in your throat may be from the breathing tube they had to put in to breathe for you.

Thank you sooo much for replying so quickly. It helps to know it normal and will get better. Mucinex does work really well. I'm having that problem too. I hope you feel better and I'm sure we will in a couple of days!

Yes the tube is definitely part of it and they repaired a hernia too, so I think its a combination of everything. Its nice to know its normal and thank you for replying. It's nice to have people to talk to about this that has experienced the same procedure.

I had surgery on the 28th. When does the pain in the abdomen go away? It feels like a burning pulling of the muscles. Tylenol doesnt work and the scripts knock me out.

ACM, take the Meds. Pain is different for different people. I'm 2 weeks out and I still have pain. (But then I was told I have a fubroid on my last office visit).

The pain started getting better about the 8th or 9th day.
