3-week liquid postop course?

Kelli, just about any of the fruits....mmmmmmm. Most of the vegetables. Some of the meats, but stay away from the veal...YUCK! It has the consistancy of sandpaper. I remember our son actually shivering and sticking his tongue out....LOL

Hey Tina,

You had mentioned Kristi in your other post and I thought you were referring to my sister, that is the exact same way she spells her name and you met her, but you're talking about the dietician! That's funny.

I have researched the lap band for 2 years now. I just find it interesting how each surgeon has a different protocol for doing things. I'm happy you are doing well. :couch2: I just made the assumption I would be doing normal stuff like walking and showering, which I am, I think I actually may slow down for a couple of days. Incidentally, I had 2 oral surgeries last year that were much worse than this, thank goodness!

EDIT: By the way, after reading my questions and the other posters, I was thinking, I must have missed something along the way! LOL I emailed Dr. Feng and talked with him and I DID! I missed the entire part of my post op material for "General Guidelines: liquids and Solids." Geez, how flakey is that! Okay, that material has completely answered all of my questions. The whole creamy/yogurt question really confused me.

Take care,

Kelli

I'm 2 days post op and am supposed to be on liquids (not clear) for 2 weeks. Diluted fruit juice, diluted cream of wheat, Soups (broth or low-fat cream), etc. I'm having a hard time getting anything down! I nursed a Protein drink for about 2 hours and barely finished 18 oz of Water so far today. I can't even IMAGINE being hungry right now, although I suppose my time will come.

After my first 2 weeks, I'll have 2 weeks of mushies (tuna fish, cottage cheese, pureed fruits and veges, applesauce, etc.).

And then you'll get a fill and get to go back on the liquids....LOL Well, some do and some don't. Just take it easy and heal right now.

Hi Everyone!!!! I am hoping someone can answer this! I am on day 23 post op and still doing the soft mushy foods phase. Will someone PLEASE tell me how many calories a day I should be at this stage per day?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
