You are NOT a failure. Every pound is a victory. Every single step you take toward your health and well being is a victory. How good of track are you keeping of your intake and exercise? See if you're taking in more than you are burning off. How are your fills? Do you have restriction? Keeping careful track of all of these things is sometimes what you need to do to get back on track if you feel like you're falling off...

I know how you feel. My surgery was March also and I have lost 31 pounds. But, I am learning that is just the way my body looses. Slow & steady wins the race.

My doc is conservative with the fills as well. One of their reasons is so you can adapt to the changes in how you need to eat. It is definitely a learning process. You are doing great.

33 lbs since March averages out to 1 lb. a week, which is just right for the 1-2 lbs. a week we're told we should expect to lose. Seriously, even though it's not as fast as you want it to be, it's a GREAT loss. Just keep moving forward!!!!!!

Hi. I was banded on 6/27/11, and the last time I went to the Dr. I had only lost 12 lbs. (I gained 5 back). I was feeling like a failure. I happened to see a picture of myself. From the waist up it was amazing. I am so motivated now, eventually I know the rest will come. Keep it up. Success is just around the corner.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
