Music - Whats your flavor?

Recommended Posts

...on what Kat said. Though I like country, I also like the 70's rock scene. Edgar Winter, Black Oak Arkansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Three Dog Night, etc..etc..etc...Love Lionel Richie from later on as well. I've seen all these guys and would love to go again...if some of them still existed...!!!

My husband LOVES Enya and I think all her music sounds the same!!!

He says my twangy music sounds like someone is trying to have a bowel movement and can't quite get there....

I have seen Blue Oyster Cult 3 times, Three Dog Night 4 times and BTO 2 times!

They always play in my area every 6-8 months.

already have a bunch of Baez, Guthrie, Dylan and most of the 'big' names. Was hoping some old hippies could turn me onto some lesser known artists.

Buckwheat and Zydeco

I am not old... but pretty close to a hippie on most days :-)

OK, say what? :car: You have every Simon and Garfunkel album on vinyl? [gets down on one knee] Will you marry me?? hahahaha I've even seen them live. They are my favorite musicians. I have a severe soft spot for them.

OK, well let me give you a bit more of what Brandi has in the old playlist today. This will be the other side of the spectrum. We will see just how many musicians...you know.

I am pretty freakin impressed so far. But beware... I can name musicians all night! My latest find... is a black-metal band from Sweden called Eluveitie. They have a guy that plays the bag-pipes... Freakin' awesome. It is classified as "folk" "ethnic" heavy (or black) metal...

I am 1 part classical performance arts, 1 part hippie... and 1 part mosh pit...on the rocks. (shaken not stirred) You will see that with this list.

Opiate, Disturbed, Stone Sour, Hurt, Shadows Fall, Celtic Frost, Viviod, Lacuna Coil, Slipknot, Kittie, Eluveitie, In flames, Nothing Face, Cradle of Filth, OTEP, Anah Aevia, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Phish, The Grateful Dead, String cheese, Pink Floyd, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rusted Root, In Flames, A Perfect Circle, propagandhi, rancid, Hurt, from autumn to ashes, the used, strung out, coheed and cambria, atreyu, joan jett, circle jerks, black sabbath, elvis presley, misfits, sublime, Yulara, pennywise, radiohead, nine inch nails, Primus, mr bungle, nirvana, melvins, the clash, ramones, Rammstein, sum 41 (a few not all), the cure, offspring (old stuff), cypress hill, in flames, they might be giants, red hot chili peppers, janes addictiion, creedence clearwater revival, beck, sugarcult, adema, black flag, faith no more, sworn enemy, transplants, butthole surfers, mission of burma, foo fighters, green day, minutemen, anthrax, fall out boy, bas religion, less than jake, rancid, rise against, yellow card, linkin Park, Mary J Blige, Ludacris, Staind, DMX, Chevelle, Korn, Incubus, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, P.O.D., Rage against the Machine, Tom Petty, Dave Matthews, Seether, The Cure, 311, Counting Crows...

There is JUST what is in my current playlist... that doesn't count everything else in the computer harddrive... in my CD cases... and on vinyl on the shelves. See if there is anything strange in THERE that stumps ya.

I can't remember if I've replied to this thread or not.

Anyway, I like a little bit of everything. Currently, I'm most into classic rock, but I also like a little country (Alabama, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, classic Garth Brooks, etc.), blues, pop (yes, I was an Nsync fan, stop laughing), even hip-hop (Kanye West, Black Eyed Peas, etc.).

I too can't remember if I replied to this thread. You name it, I like it!

I've seen the Dead over 100 times, so that should set the stage for my musical diversity.

Love Zep, Madonna and Garth Brooks equally!!!

Too many to list, but music is a huge part of my life.

I even had sex in Elvis' pool!

Great thread, but there is just too much to type for me, but love reading everyone's posts!

peaceout:hippie::violin::drum::rockon::Banane41::):P:car: (LOL...love that last banana)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
