How long have you been banded? How many fills have you had? If you aren't at restriction yet, it's the hardest time because it's all willpower. You will get there eventually. I have noticed that for me if I don't drink enough fluids or get enough Protein, my weight loss slows so make sure you are doing that. Take care and chin up, you can do it!

Get to your Dr and discuss the reasons why in 3 years you have only lost 20 lbs. Obviously you need a fill but there may be other reasons why you arent losing weight.

I am 10 months post op and have seen the Dr every month since being banded and will continue until I reach my goal. I have had 4 fills to get to my sweet spot.... but the more I lose the more filled I need to be. I couldnt be as successful as I have been if I didnt see my Dr every month.

Best of Luck to you.

Sounds to me like you need to find your "green zone" ...you need to go to your surgeon and tell him "GIVE ME RESTRICTION" ...nicely of course. You shouldn't be able to eat anything & everything. How many cc's is your band, and how many cc's are in it?

You need to get in touch with your surgeon, and tell him what you lost in 3 years, and how you feel also.

Ask to be filled under Fluoroscope, and maybe he will fill you to your fill line.

But go see your Surgeon ! If No satisfaction then go see someone else.

I agree with the above posts about getting a fill. I also want to put a plug in for excerise. If your not, start. If you are, up what your doing. Working out has so many benefits, just one being weight loss. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. I started out walking slowly for 20 minutes on the treadmill. I now jog for 30 or walk briskly on an incline for 45. I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. You can do it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
