A Major Scale Victory

Recommended Posts

I am, for the first time in 10 years, under 200 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ten months past my surgery, exercising regularly, and having to restart a few times, I have hit a major milestone. That number alone is a motivation for me to keep going. I tried on an XL top the other day and it was a little loose, so I tried on a Large. It was a bit snug at the hips, but it fit better than the XL! That's also motivation!

congrats on your scale victory!!!! i was banded 4 months ago and i cant get past 20 pounds!!!arrgghhh so frustrating. my clothing size has gone from a 20 to a 16, but the scale wont move. ieveryone keeps telling me the scale will catch up! WHEN!!! ugh! i knew this would be a slow process and plus i have thyroid issue, but i feel like i'm at a stand still at this point. yep, exercising 4 times a week at least and 2 times with a trainer. i think maybe i'll go in for a small fill, but with my new job it's impossible to get off work in time to make it to the doctor's office. ugh! FRUSTRATED!:(

Jennifer, it will happen! Your doctor/nutritionist might also be able to tell you if you're eating enough to support your 4x week workout metabolism. Over the summer, I hardly lost any weight but my body seemed to have rearranged itself. My measurements changed quite a bit, then the scale started moving again. I can't figure it out, either!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
