Corrigan 75 Posted October 2, 2011 Ditto. I had the band w/plication done at Cedars-Sinai a month ago. I had absolutely no problems, other that slight site discomfort. I have very little hunger and am not planning fills unless things change.
THENEWME2012 0 Posted October 2, 2011 Bromo, thanx for yor support and yes both of them Dr.T and Pennington are the nicest guys...well trained and professional. Im actually kinda glad that I am an employee at Trinity because I would have probably gone elsewhere for the procedure. A friend of mine had hers at Medical Center East but it was just the Lap Band and she was stunned at the amount of information that I was given with Dr. T. in only the first visit..... The binder? ?? must we say the binder again is awesome also the out of pocket costs are not bad at all.... I have been doing alot of reading & alot of people have to go to many classes, long psych evaluations etc.... I have all of mine scheduled for one day Oct 21st I will see the Nutrionalist at 1pm Pysch at 2pm and Fitness at 3 Im so looking forward to having the plication and the wait of these 6 months is hard already. Im glad that I have met someone that has already been through the same procedure and at the same facility so I can ask questions I look forward to meeting you as well..keep up the good work and thanx again for your support!!!!!! TheNewMe, I see you are using Dr. Touliatos. I used Dr. Pennington in the same office. Aren't they a fantastic facility with a caring and concerned staff? I love the nutritionist. And the hospital staff at Trinity were wonderful. I am very pleased with the whole of them and I am so confident in my doctor. I have had nothing but good come from my banding with plication and am very glad that this practice offers that option. The level of information they offer, including the binder, really put them over the top. I use my binder all the time and it has answered many questions for me since having the surgery and helped me to stay on track. Regarding the plication, I am definitely glad I made this choice. It has already proven itself to help me through "bandster hell" by keeping my hunger at bay. I am not scheduled for a fill and if things continue as they have been, I will not have one for a bit. Congrats on having the surgery and maybe I will see you in a support group meeting or at the office one day!
THENEWME2012 0 Posted October 2, 2011 Thanx for respecting my choice..and I respect yours as well. Thats what makes the world go around different opinions and different people I agree that WE should make the informed decision about our surgery, NOT our doctors. I applaud your research and confidence in your decision. I disagree with it as you know, but I respect your choice.
Grammy2u 0 Posted October 3, 2011 Hi, I am having surgery Oct. 14. I am getting the lap band with modified plication. My surgeon has found that it keeps the chances of the band slipping , down and helps with the weight loss. Anyone else having this? Good luck to all!!! Randi I had my plain regular Lap Band surgery 9/22/2011- 62 years old, wonderful doctor, wonderful hospital. Doing great. stated soft foods and all is well. Have lost 15.4 pounds. Get my staples out Tuesday! When people tell you that this surgery is a walk in the park.....it is not bad but, I would never walk in that park again. lol Glad I had it...glad I used Dr. Thompson. Thank everyone involved in my journey.
