Dont be worried at all, it is very normal, you might not notice any restriction until after your 3rd or 4th fill. Im about 5.4 in a 10cc band, I have good restriction but it is different for everyone.

I went through the same feelings thinking maybe I am one of those people who this just won't work for- BUT my last fill put those fears to rest! I have 4.5 in a 10cc band and it makes all the difference in the world!! Once you are properly filled you will feel completely different. I simply can not eat anywhere near what I use to eat. Even if I really want to eat by band prevents me from doing so.

It can take a while though-that's something I didn't realize before being banded. I thought the weight would simply just drop off each month and quickly. You will absolutely get there and then you'll have an entire new set of worries like: If I eat this will I get stuck, am I getting enough proteins/water in?

Hang in there-your next fill should get you a lot closer to your sweet spot!:)

it took me 4 fills to actually get restriction, 5 to get good restriction and to get in the green zone, or the sweet spot as my doctor calls it.

I have 2.8 cc in my band right now & I can sill eat normal sometimes I've only had one stuck episode. I go back on the 11th to get another fill. I still eating a lot less then I would when I did have the band and thats the reason we got it in the first place. It's okay.

Same thing here, but it didn't take more than 2 fills for me to notice a HUGE difference. I had a 2 cc fill, then I had another 2 cc's and it was all I needed to know there was something in there! Good luck on your fill, hopefully it will give you some help!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
