Dissappointed with Myself

Recommended Posts

Ok peeps, I quess I must be going through this bandster hell, I've been starving and I even stooped to eatiing some things I have no business. I'm 4 weeks out and my first fill is scheduled for next Monday. Am I the only person that has broke down during this period and ate something that I had no business. I'm not looking for approval, because I am beating myself terrible over this. Sad thing is I am up 18 hours a day, I do well at work, but it's when I get home. I have no support group and I am starting to get depressed.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

don't beat yourself up over it, get back on the wagon and get going again. One thing about the lap band is it is a tool and it takes a lot of work. Self control is a big part of weight loss, but it is ok once and a while to treat yourself just be careful.

Really, if you have no fill yet there is no reason to beet yourself up! By now, you're healed and pretty much feeling like you did before surgery. You don't have any restriction so why wouldn't you go back to some old habits? I remember these exact feelings. Luckily, I had a friend to turn to who'd gone through it and she told me to not worry about it or watch the scale until I had a fill. It's not a reason to go and eat cake and ice cream but it is time to be nice to yourself and look forward to your future! You're only human and can only go so long depriving yourself on your own. You have the tool to help you and soon it will be put to great use in changing your life! Best of luck!

I got my band 2 yrs ago and my first "real" meal was a Burger King cheeseburger. So yes, I know what it feels like to not eat quite so healthy and be disappointed in myself. For the first 4 mths or so after I had the band, I felt no restriction whatsoever. And I ate just the same amt I had eaten previously. It took till my 3rd fill to get some restriction. I've now lost 100 lbs with about 13 left to lose with perfect restriction. And I still eat quite a few things I shouldn't be eating. If I could eat perfectly, I wouldn't have needed surgery! I agree with the others - stop beating yourself up and understand that it's ok to blow it occasionally. Once you have restriction, it'll become easier to say no to certain things and pass by certain things.

Good luck to you!
