Does the port or band bother anyone during intimate times?

If so, IS THERE A BEst PLACE FOR THE PORT TO BE PLACED SO IT DOESN'T BOTHER YOU DURING INTIMACY?

Sorry about caps

Also, does the band get in the way orally?

Tough questions but someone has to ask. I'm not asking my doctor. I dont know him that well.

The mind boggles? Is this question for real?

What worries me is that if someone can ask questions like this it would seem that they know very little about the band. I would be doing a lot more research to make sure I understood what the band is and where it goes before having surgery.

To answer:

The band is inside your body around the top part of your stomach. You cannot feel it once it is there. I cannot by any stretch of the imagination figure out how someone could imagine it could get in the way orally. Even having toured the sex museum in Amsterdam and seen all the strange stuff there I don't know what kind of sex a person would be having for that to happen.

Your port you can feel through your skin if you are trying to. It feels like a hard lump. It doesn't interfere with sex at all.

Rest assured....the band and the port in no way have any relationship to intimacy. You most likely will forget its there... until you eat or drink.

LMBO!!! I think the one that gets me the most is if it will effect orally...........If you're with someone that it could, I would say you're not going to be around long enough to see if it will effect you!!!! WOW!

LOL I thought I was the only one who had a huge question mark in their head about the oral thing after reading this post. After reading several posts by this poster, I agree that they need to educate themselves about the band more.

Like some of you have said she needs to educate herself and part of education is asking questions and that is why these forums exist. I don't think it is fair for you to laugh at or make fun of someone who is sincerely asking a question about stuff they don't know about. Just saying, if we knew everything we will not be here would we?

Ah, I forgot 6 is large for your men. My man is not on the teenie weenie committee.

I'M JUST SAYING.

@ Jonna WTH are you talking about? Really, I don't understand.

@ Jackie I'm not concerned about my doctor being bothered. I am concerned about my comfort in this matter.

@ elcee research is good. You may have wanted to do a bit of research before answering my question. Here is the thing, I'm not concerned about the physical placement of the band but of the reflexes which it may or may not cause.

@ red, bromo and Lynn, you are all way too întellectual for me.

@ Floridays. Thank you for being mature In this matter.

Well it would have to be about 16 just to get anywhere close to the band and really bendy and probably pretty narrow. Generally when you are doing that kind of stuff it's not bendy. But if what you are saying is that your partner has one like that then I feel truly sorry for you and yes I think your reflexes would be rejecting it.

Funny, when you mentioned orally I was thinking of you receiving not giving................

Elcee,

Also,

Don't feel sorry for me. God himself made my body to accommodate my man. I don't feel sorry for you, not really.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
