live2canoe 1 Posted February 6, 2006 The good news - wait the GREAT news- everything in the 'womens' department (aka the big girl section) is now officially too big for me. I have a big presentation in front of the president of my company coming up and needed something 'professional' to wear. I went to Nordstroms, where there is a very helpful sales lady who I love, and started trying on clothes. The smallest size they carry in the women's dept is a 14W. Everything I tried was too big. We called in the alterations lady. She starts pinning, and pinning and pinning and she finally says - "what I've taken-in here is a whole size. Did you try the other department?" Well, no, I didn't try the other department - I haven't been able to fit anything there in years. The helpful sales lady and I trek downstairs to try on 'regular' sized clothes. Waddaya know? Most of them fit! There are still some pants where I need a 14 w, and will have to have them altered down , and jackets are still a problem (I have lunch lady upper arms), but, most everything FIT!
