SugarCali 9 Posted September 22, 2011 Hi, I was banded Sept. 2. For the past week I've been falling asleep on my back but waking up face down, on my stomach. Anyone else sleep directly on their stomach? If I try to when I am getting ready to sleep, it hurts too much, but end up waking up that way.... Just wondering, thanks! amjcal 5 Posted September 22, 2011 I think you are fine, I was sleeping on my tummy by that point as well, although I used a body pillow to kind of give a little support and cushion so I would be directly putting pressure the painful area. pamela3782 17 Posted September 22, 2011 It took me a while before I could comfortably sleep on my stomach. I was fine while I was asleep but when I got up I had a terrible pain in my muscle above my port. I guess if you can sleep soundly with no pain you are lucky lol. Congrats btw! vlp1968 83 Posted September 22, 2011 I think your fine. I am a diehard stomach sleeper. I slept on my stomach from day one. Felt the incisions but not really pain- I have a very high pain tolerance. Congrats on your surgery!
K1SM3T 1 Posted September 22, 2011 I sleep on my side and I'm conscious about it. But i do lay on my port and i use a pillow under and it doesn't bother me, i'm 2 weeks out.
Jewel28 5 Posted September 22, 2011 I'm a stomach sleeper but for the first 9 days I was very conscious about not laying on my stomach. I would either lay on my back or on my right side that was it. But for this last week I have been waking up in the middle of the night on my stomach. It doesn't hurt it just feels weird. So if you can handle it I say go for it. cakegirl 12 Posted September 23, 2011 I'm the same - I go to sleep on my back or side but always wake up lying on my tummy. I haven't had any negative sideaffects from that.
