Has anyone tried Visalus Protien shakes?

Recommended Posts

I don't usually do MLM (multi level marketing) You don't even need the $299 package click take the challenge, then see more choose Vi-Shape Nutritional shake Mix (30 Serving Pouch), you can try the flavor things or just use sugar free pudding mix to change the flavors and lots of great recipes coming, this is honestly less expensive than most of the shavkes out there....If 3 people sign up I get mine free. 2 shakes 1 snack...and 1 dinner...If I get 3 peeps to sign up with auto ship I get 1 mos free...I am not selling or a distributor who evers pipeline I am under i hope you get the Mercedes :D

The products are all hype and company itself has an amazing marketing team to promote this hype. Most of the ingredients are artificial and controversial. Highly not recommended because of fillers. Hate to burst anyone's bubble who is a business owner or promoter but don't take my word for it:

WOW- Frank166 bitter much?! I understand that they are not your cup of tea, fine, that is your opinion. In my honest opinion, they are wonderful. I drink them everyday, sometimes twice a day. Since my band surgery, they got me thru the liquid only phase and now I drink them for the extra protien. they are the only drink I've foudn that I can do continually on a daily basis. The product does not contain fillers, as most other protien drinks do. Like I said before, I'm not here to sell the product, i was just sharing something that I found to be VERY helpful in my weight loss journey!

no bitter, just realistic. Sure they taste great! Not badgering that. I have a problem how they fool the public on what they put in the shakes. Taste gets people all the time. Unless you know a thing about nutrition you would realize what ingredients they put in them and realize what long term effects would have on the body. But if you want to keep consuming them that's fine. I'm just a clinical nutritionist and have been for the past 12 years, what do I know.....

point taken, but considering what a big mac or any other kind of junk food does to your body long term I see this as the lesser of two evils. if I could have done it based on nutrition alone, obviously i would'nt be on this site looking for support. I have taken this to my doctor and nutritionist who both say it is a healthy alternative. I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
