Hey all! I am with you guys too. Because i have no restriction, i find i am able to get most foods and amounts of foods down. I honestly thought i'd feel SOMETHING to let me know when to stop but i really don't. Do i eat like i did before the band? No. But i'm still eating way too much and my first fill is not till the 7th!! I feel like i'm going to gain all the weight i worked so hard to lose during the liquid phase of the diet.

It's true. With all the info i got from the doc's office, no one said anything about this bandster hell period. I weigh myself every sunday morning..........am debating whether it's worth it to get on the scale tomorrow.

I have my 3rd fill on 11/08. I have to go see my surgeon before that. The first fill I felt it.I got 2 cc's. I don't know how much they put in it this time. I was banded 09/02. I don't feel anything but I can eat more than a cup of food but I don't cause I'm not hungry but then again if I ate so little I think I would get 600 calories a day.

I was reflecting on my eating ... I am now on the puree stage (banded Sept 15 2011 - no fills) - I realized that I am not limiting my intake to the 1 cup per meal suggested by my surgeon - I normally have 2 cups. I limit my intake to about 1000 cals per day ... I am wondering if the extra cup of food is expanding my pouch. Are we suppose to limit our intake on the puree stage?

When have you all resumed sex after surgery? How long do we need the extra protection (the pa said there is an extra chance of getting pregnant after surgery so we would need something more than just the pill that i usually take)

How long before you could have caffeine?

My calories run from 600 to 800 per day occasionally going up to 900 but not often. I eat around a cup of food each meal and have a snack of a babybel light or a low carb yogurt in the late afternoon.

I had sex 3 or 4 days post op!

You can get pregnant easier due to the weight loss. I should have named my son Atkins cause after I went on that diet and lost 60lbs I got pregnant!! Weight loss regulated my hormones and fixed my infertility! I'm on the pill now but wasn't back then. I had stopped having periods when I weighed 330. So extra protection isn't needed.

I haven't started yet, but sure wanted a cup this morning. Getting off all the diet sodas and caffeine has helped my sleeping so much, I am afraid to start with it again.

I agree. I got real hooked when we got our keurig machine and sampled all those amazing flavors. I also found that because i nurse my coffee for a few hours, i tended to eat less during the first part of the day.

I'm totally discouraged today. Got on the scale and gained 5#. Wth??? I've been using my fitbit, logging all my foods, and have been under 1,000 calories every day but one - when i came in at 1,053. The fitbit shows I burn more every day than I'm taking in. I have not been successful at losing since my hysterectomy 5 years ago. Please tell me it will get better!

I get my first fill on the 27th, so I've got a week and a half to go. He better give me a big fill. I'm hoping he'll do my second fill a week early, otherwise it will kill my thanksgiving dinner.< /p>

Sounds like you're doing everything right with regards to diet and exercise. I would say just keep doing what you're doing till your appt.

Out of curisosity, i'm starting on soft foods right now, and am wondering what kinds of foods everyone added to their diet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
