Hi Teri,

You and I are one day apart from our entry to Bandlandia. I am scheduled for Tuesday. I hope your surgery is quick and painless. Be sure and check in when you are feeling up to it. I know I will be looking to hear from you since we are so close in our surgery dates.

I think I am going through the "last supper" syndrome. I have been trying hard not to get carried away, but it is difficult. I don't think I have the frame of mind that I won't be able to eat certain foods after being banded, but I am dreading the clear liquid stage which starts on Monday for me.

Keep in touch.

Good luck...I'm sure you will love Dr. Boutt. Also, all of the nurses there are extremely nice. One suggestion....as soon as you wake up, Walk, walk, walk and then walk some more. Walk as much as you can around that circle. The nurses will encourage you to walk. They are right about how much faster you will heal. It will help get all the gas out and you will be in MUCH less pain. You won't feel like walking, but it will be so worth it!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
