electronicart 120 Posted September 19, 2011 Just when I am in the home stretch, I get a call from my family doctor. I had my annual bloodwork done last Monday. I am scheduled for pre-op for Lap Band surgery this Thursday. The nurse said that I'm anemic. I told her that I am scheduled for pre-op this week and surgery next week. (September 29th) So, I'm off to the store to get some Iron and Vitamin C. I hope and pray my bloodwork is good for surgery next week. I've never had any problems with my hemoglobin. I guess I'm going to continue to be jumping hurdles on my Lap Band journey. Could my hemoglobin be low due to blood being drawn right before my cycle? I cannot think of any other reason. I eat healthy, just way too much healthy. I do take Vitamins, but, have not been very good about it until I got approval last week. I'm hoping its just a fluke. I had a finger stick at the Red Cross a week ago Saturday. It was 12.5, which is too low to give blood. Three months ago it was 13.5. The nurse told me that their labs showed it at 9. Just don't know what to think. I am so ready for this, I can taste it. Any words of wisdom out there? Thanks.
