txdiva 13 Posted September 16, 2011 I had my lap band surgery yesterday along with the hernia repair and I am really sore this morning. I also have bad gas pains. I have been walking some and taking Gas X but I was wondering if anyone here has any other suggestions for getting rid of the pain. Also, how long does the gas pains last? Jonna 4 Posted September 16, 2011 Walk, Walk, Walk my gas pains lasted for over 2-weeks, plus I had the worse case of nausea. Exactly 2-weeks to the day, I woke up and set up in bed and said wow I feel great. Just be patient, I promise it will all be better soon!!
K1SM3T 1 Posted September 16, 2011 I had mine 9 days ago and I had bad gas pain at the start..it's easing now but sometimes when I want to burp I feel the pain. I walk as much as possible, take gas-x, and I ask my mom to massage my back up and down so i can burp and release some gas.
cakelly73 28 Posted September 16, 2011 Use a heating pad as well, that worked for me. I had bad gas pains for about 8 days. I am 16 days post-op and still get them every so often.
FFPM Eric 0 Posted September 16, 2011 I had my surgery Tuesday morning. For me the gas pains were bad for the first 36 hours. After that, they really subsided & are now (72 hours post-op) only a slight nuisance.
