Alexandra 55 Posted February 5, 2006 I use Firefox routinely at home, and IE at work. On IE I have no problem getting and senting pager messages, but they don't work with Firefox. It's not a popup-window problem, since I don't block them. But they don't show up at all. Any ideas? Anyone? Dawg? :help:
kja 0 Posted February 5, 2006 go to foxfire extensions page and look for plug in to do what you want to do. Linda
Alexandra 55 Posted February 5, 2006 But I don't know what it is that it's not doing for me. I thought I had all the plugins I needed, since I don't have any trouble elsewhere. Do you get pager messages?
kja 0 Posted February 5, 2006 We went to firefox and did not find any plugins for pager messages either. You could do a goggle for it. Sorry we cant help you. If you have any other questions feel free to email. This household in knee deep in computer geeks!!!! I have the tuition bills to prove it. Linda
dawg 0 Posted February 5, 2006 I use firefox and IE with no current problems. I'll have a play with it though and see if I can figure out what might be happening.
dawg 0 Posted February 5, 2006 I poked around and the pager didn't work in either IE or FireFox. (IE V6.0 Service Pack 1) (FireFox V1.5.0.1). As the pager system is very new, its probably just buggy. The page shows up as being present, but when you open the dialogue the page message isn't displayed. Personal Messages work fine in both browsers.
Alexandra 55 Posted February 5, 2006 OOPS! I always get the name wrong. How embarrassing!! I'm going to fix the name of this thread so it's not laughing at me anymore. :puke:
Alexandra 55 Posted February 5, 2006 Yep, Dawg, that's exactly what happens to me. But it does seem that I can consistently get and send pager messages in IE but not in Firefox (Firefox, Firefox, FIREFOX). Guess I'll just have to work with it. Thanks!! dawg 0 Posted February 5, 2006 Here is an unpleasantly skanky workaround. 1. When you see that you have a Pager Message. Click on Pager Message. 2. If any pager messages exist in the Dialogue that opens, Select them all and delete them. 3. Click on the Download dropbox and click on any of the options (TXT, XML, or CSV). 4. The window will change to a vBulletin window and your pages will now start appearing. Tested in IE and FireFox. Both worked. I suspect somehow the vBulletin can't properly allocate them to a space (like the Inbox) and they sort of hang in Limbo until you actuall connect to the vBulletin interface directly. vinesqueen 2 Posted February 5, 2006 I normally use Firefox but I haven't had any troubles getting pages. Doesn't seem to be any difference for me in IE or Firefox.
Wheetsin 714 Posted February 5, 2006 Firefox devotee. Mozilla devotee in general. Not sure about this particular issue, but I can send you a list of sys configs you can make that GREATLY improve performance, if you're interested.
Alexandra 55 Posted February 5, 2006 Yikes, Wheetsin, are you suggesting I program the browser??? Scary... If you can define "sys configs" I might take you up on your offer. Maybe. :puke: Thanks, Dawg. An easier workaround is just to open my IE and see what the message is.
PhotoNut 7 Posted February 6, 2006 Jack, Right click on the link in your favorites list you want, select Copy. Then go to your decktop and right click on an open space, select Paste Shortcut. That should do it for ya. -------------------------------------------------- Decktop? LOL Yar!!
PhotoNut 7 Posted February 6, 2006 First.. Are you sure you got it copied? Second.. Are you clicking on an empty space on the Desktop? Finally.. If you answered Yes to both, try Ctrl+V when on the desktop.
PhotoNut 7 Posted February 6, 2006 Ok.. new approach Copy the URL you want for your shortcut (in the address bar) Right click on the Desktop and select New Shortcut Proceed thru the Wizard that shows up, pasting the URL in when promoted for location.
