I am scheduled for Wednesday at 8 am. I have finished 6 days of liquids and feel drained. I have no cravings and am concered about tomorrow's clear liquid day and the next two weeks. I chewed some ice chips tonight and that helped. Any other suggestions as I am getting nervous about my surgery. Help

i was super nervous right before, did not get any sleep the night before. yes the Clear Liquids suck, but the band is worth it to me. the 2 weeks after surgery is called "banders hell". i was so happy when i could have Soup. lol! tasted fantastic. i would not trade this band for anything. it is my tool to help me.

Cant help but think if 2 weeks AFTeR surgery are banders hell then the 2 week liquid diet leading to it must be the road to hell!

Ready to go, I am with you. Although my prediet was not completely liquid, it was mainly so. Today has not been as hard as I thought on Clear Liquids, maybe it is just the excitement of knowing tomorrow is surgery day is taking care of that. I just had some SF Jello when I was getting a bit hungry after drinking 4 oz of juice, so I feel better. Had done fine until the carbs in the juice. Those carbs can be wickedly evil little hunger drivers. Hope we both have a good day tomorrow and come back to post as official bandsters afterward.

Well I did it and got home this morning. I feel lost. Moving plenty so gas is slowly disappearing. I am not interested in eating anything. I had a Protein Drink this afternoon and will have another one tonight. I had Soup and an ice this morning at the hospital so I guess looking back, I did ok on my first day of liquids after. Can believe that that part is all over. The research, classes, tests surgery all done. Now I try to sleep and see how I feel tomorrow.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
