Need Some Weight Loss Buddies!!!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I was banded on July 21st of this year and I suck. I have only lost 7 lbs. Mostly because I have been able to eat anything and everything that I was able to eat before and have not changed any of my eating habits. Remember, I am not good at dieting, that is why I had this thing put in my body!!! I have had 2 fills now, the first one was 3 cc's and the second one was 1.5 cc's. Still no restriction. Here is the good part, I started working out on Sunday August 28th and have been kickin butt!! I have done at least 25 minutes of Turbo Jam everyday since. I figure why pay 11,500 out of pocket to be the same person as I was before. I just joined myfitnesspal.com and have been logging my food which is helping a ton. I need support and some buddies to chat with though. If you are on myfitnesspal.com my user name is jersgirl060606. Please look me up and let's lend some support to one another =-) I know eventually I will have the restriction I need to get through the food issues. I am starving all the time and am looking forward to the day that my band will assist me in my weight loss journey. In the meantime, I will continue working out at least 6 days per week.

About 3 weeks after I was eating everything and anything I ate before. I do have bad habits to break but if I wanted to go on yet another starvation diet I could have saved myself a ton of money lol. It is about being comitted and making changes with help hopefully from the band.

Will help work on that.

I am NOT good at dieting either---I cannot believe I have lasted this long without ICE CREAM or BREAD!--10 days post-op + 2 day pre-op diet.

Visiting this forum really is encouraging to me,

Hang in there!

I added you. I am not that great of a dietier either. I am trying, but of course I cheated this morning and ate donuts.

I just started myfitnesspal this week and am loving it! I'll look for you on there too. The band is a great tool to help us gain some control but it really doesn't do much good until that dang restriction gets to where it needs to be! You're getting closer, don't give up! When is your next fill scheduled? Keep up the working out and once you get that magic fill, you'll be amazed at your results! I'm currently unfilled and will be for 7 weeks total, to allow my pouch to shrink back. It's been a very humbling experience for me and since this unfill, I have joined this forum. It's really helped me to realize that I need to stop trying to beat the system and just eat the grown up way. I'm 44 years old and have had the eating habits of a preschooler! Tracking my food intake on myfitness has really helped me this week to gain some control, although it has been birthday week at my house and you'll see small pieces of cake eaten Sun, Mon and Tuesday! That's an improvement though, because I would have had several pieces in the past and substitued cake for a meal!

Our minds can be so mean! We talk ourselves into thinking that we're failures and not capable or deserving of success. So much of it is mind games and we have to prove ourselves wrong!

Thousands of people have had success with the band and you will become one of them too! Feel free to email me anytime that you're feeling down and I'll give you a pep talk, I may need the same out of you sometime too! Get that next fill appointment scheduled and let me know how things are going!

Good luck!

Hello,

I am new to the group, but 3 yrs out since my band. I have been in a plateau for about 1 1/2 of them. I lost about 30 and I go back and forth with 6 pounds.

I can give ya'll tons of excuses, but here is my story. I have 3 boys (14 1/2, 12 1/2, and 9 1/2)-- sporting very often, and my hubby. I work full time and am back in school (online working on my second masters). Anyway, I don't eat right (try to eat safe and yummy) and I have not been exercising. Needless to say, I need a support group to help me get back on track. I want to loose a minimum of 30 more pounds.

Please, I welcome conversation from those in similar situation or just those that can relate. Need idea's for different foods etc.

I look forward to getting to know some of you and helping each other out.

Tammy

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
