Hi November Bandsters, When Is Your Lap Band Surgery Date ?

Recommended Posts

I am telling people at work that I am having Gall Bladder issues. then when it comes to surgery date I am going to say I am having my Gall Bladder removed.

Thats a good idea! i am lucky my holidays from uni start one week exactly before, hopefully my pre op diet will only last one week because the week before that i have final exams!! arghhhhhhhh!

I am also not telling anyone but mum dad and the boyfriend about my surgery! hopefully will be having a day procedure so i wont even have to stay the night at the hospital! just a matter of managing the pain and getting back to normal so you feel better!

Best of luck!!

Hi everyone! Im so excited about this board!

I had my surgery November 2nd, 2011.

I'm 32, I have two boys 2 & 4, I'm blogging and vlogging my way through this adventure which you can find at pepperscraps.com

I'm doing really well so far! Pain is easily managed with drugs and once I got a rx for nausea I was doing really good!

I'm actually surprised at how good I feel.

Hey stacey I friended you to be added to the group but my tablet froze before I could message who I was. My name is Pepper.

November 29th. I can hardly wait. Today I started my pre-surgery diet. Dr. wants me to drop 10 lbs prior to surgery so Im on liquids till the 29th. He did give me the okay for a bite of turkey on Thanksgiving.

This is it for me. November 29th cannot come soon enough,. How soon after the surgery will I be able to drive, and function normally?

Im sure Ill have lots of questions, so Ill appreciate any guidance and insight I receive.

Anne Marie

I was also banded on Nov 1st. Still pretty sore around the port area but other than that I feel great. Down 16lbs and 2 sizes so far. When I went last week for my post-op appointment I was told that it was really good that I was down so much and that between surgery and the first fill most people actually gain.

At first I wasn't hungry at all...I could care less if I ever had food again. Slowly I am starting to get an appetite back. It is crazy how now when I start to feel full I am full and do not keep piling the food in.

I get my first fill on Nov 30th. Woohoo!!!

Good luck to all!

P.S. I do not do Facebook so I hope some of you will stick around here as well as the facebook page.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
