Dog Food Inspiration!

Recommended Posts

My wife and I have considered this idea just for comedy sake and because it will be a good solid memorial.

Every time you lose 25 pounds, buy a bag of dog food, cement, soil - whatever you like. Make sure its a 25 pound bag though.

Then place it in a large and humerous stack in your garage. Every time you think "mmm chocolate" or "mmmm mc donalds". Walk into the garage and look at your "stack o' whatever".

Then try and pick up your "Stack o' whatever".

When you see those 2, 3, 4, 5 (and so on) 25 pound bags, I suspect your motivation will be... enhanced.

Feel free to join us in our insanity!

I have thought about this myself! Every time I watch my husband carry the big bags of chicken food to the chicken house, I think, "Good grief, that's how much I have lost, plus some!" When you see it like that, it really gives you something to think about!!

I regularly jog up and down the aisle at the grocery store carrying the biggest bag of dogfood I can find...usually 38 pounds, which is roughly what I have lost with the band. No wonder I felt like crap!!! My 2yo wonders what's going on, since I never buy any of the bags I pick up, I just heft to one shoulder, the other, on a hip, on my head, walk, jog, heave and ho. I just make sure the aisle is empty, but then I don't care if I get caught. It's a great idea! Especially since the frozen food aisle is next over...easier to pass on by the evil ice cream.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
