Yep, my thoughts on this post are just the thought of the pain or problems it would cause would be far enough to keep me away from such things. I am not trying to hurt myself or cause misery. No thanks!

Great job...and it does get easier to say no to things. Once you start seeing and feeling the changes in your body, it will come easy to say no to those tempting treats. It is all mind over matter.

I haven't had pizza or Pasta in over 4 months...and I don't really miss it.

Mind over matter---so true!

Its funny, I keep thinking back to that night and thinking, what if I did have pizza? It would be OVER NOW anyway, and I would feel worse, not better!

RIght now, I cannot even think of going 4 months without ever having pizza again, but then again, 14 days ago, I did not think I would last a DAY without any bread at all!! LOL--congrats on 4 months, and happy to hear you're NOT missing it biggrin.gif

funny, I caved about 6 weeks post op to pizza breadsticks. BAD IDEA! Youll try it once and NEEEEVVVVER do it again. The Stuck episode and swelling (caused major complications for weeks) because I got stuck on a bite of pizza hut breadstick. I avoid pizza like the plague now. It hurt like the dickens and the craving goes away pretty quickly. Great job for passing it up. You did yourself a favor.

That's how it is for me now. It's no longer mind over matter, will power, etc. I have learned the hard way that there are foods I will never eat again.

Because of that I am learning a new way of looking at foods, and developing new eating habits.

I would look at that pizza and simply say "no way. That would be a mistake that will cause a lot of discomfort"

I had the band put in yesterday and am home today. Was walking right away and feel some pain and have lttle desire to eat. I was so focued on my liquids before that I think it help be recover faster than any of the 4 other patients who went in the same day.

My doctor told me (after the surgery) that people sometimes second guess themselves and want it removed right away but that passes. I hope sp because I can not believe all of the reserach is done, the surgery is done and I feel lost.

Thanks for being there because people like you guys make it that much easier.

I was one to second guess myself! Im 3 days post op, and I was watching tv, started laughing at NIKKI PARKER and all of the sudden the tears started rolling down my face, and I couldnt stop sobbing, asking myself WHAT HAVE I DONE?? But it went away now, it was just a moment. Itll be the best thing we did for ourselves!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
