I don't know how, but I DID IT--passed up pizza & breadsticks!

Recommended Posts

So, I met up with friends and the kids tonight for pizza and breadsticks at Pat N Oscars, and I did not have ANY.

I am just so amazed that I could do that! I am 8 days post-op, so I had a Protein Shake before I left and am emergency sugar-free pudding in my purse. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to stop my self from sneaking in a little bite of pizza, yet, I DID (stop myself, that is)! I really had doubts that this band thing would work--I am such an emotional eater, and even told my doctor I eat when I am NOT hungry all the time. I can't believe I am actually doing this, and surviving without junk food all day......

I still feel like I am walking on eggshells though--I haven't told a SOUL about my surgery for fear that it might not work, sigh....

but, I think it just MIGHT be working!

Thanks for letting me share smile.gif

Good job! I'm so glad there's not a pat and oscar's in Phoenix any more. I wouldnt be able to pass it up! Everytime my husband and I go to San Diego(pre-band) I always want to go eat at pat and oscar's and have their amazing breadsticks. Love that place... anyway... Haha

I'm proud of you!

Fantastic!

A lot of times some things are just all in our Head. Like a addiction for carbs... Once you know you can't have it, you lose the urge for it.

Hope that makes sense to you, because it's so,,,, true !!

Why won't/didn't you tell anybody? Support will

be your greatest ally. I'm just curious because I thought about not saying anything, but I'm glad I did. It makes dining out so much easier because nobody puts pressure on me or questions my motives.

funny, I caved about 6 weeks post op to pizza breadsticks. BAD IDEA! Youll try it once and NEEEEVVVVER do it again. The Stuck episode and swelling (caused major complications for weeks) because I got stuck on a bite of pizza hut breadstick. I avoid pizza like the plague now. It hurt like the dickens and the craving goes away pretty quickly. Great job for passing it up. You did yourself a favor.

Chelle:

I have been very focused on the week or liquids and after the first day was ok. I am not worried about loosing weight right after surgery just my sanity.

Mindy:

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
