Mexico vs. Wishcenter

:asl: Go easy on the mod guys!! If you do some checking - all of that particular user's posts are almost identical and if you find their website - she works for them!!!

So... Thanks to the mod for saying something - everytime I see one of Aracely's posts - I'm annoyed because I know she's marketing for them.

Do you homework people!! And, if you're sharing personal experiences share away - if you're marketing - go away :uwelcome:

But like you am scared about the whole mexico thing.I hear nothing but good things about DR RUMABUT but have not talked to anyone who actually saw him. Can you tell me anything else about you experince? How much weight have you lost? Where do you get you fills? where are you from? I am writing from san antonio texas

There is not a problem advertising for a doctor who you had experience with, but there is a problem with EMPLOYEES of those doctors who advertise. Aracely is an assistant to the doctor he was speaking of. There IS a difference there. Are you going to trust someone who is just trying to persuade you to come to HIS clinic? Think about it.

Cathy

I'm rather unhappy with this admonishment since I'm very interested in various doctors and the services they offer. I certainly prefer to hear from people who have had experience with these doctors, or who have found information that I haven't found. Is there a site where people can discuss the merits of various doctors without remonstrations?

I know. I checked that website and it was not a lapband site. So I'm not as naive as I was. But thanks.

I paid 9,000.00 for mine with the cost of airfare to get it done in ROME ITALY. The European lapband has the most sucess rate. My doctor is bi-ligual and is great. The only thing I had to do is get a psych evalution before surgery. The team in ROME is outstanding and they send patients at the PRIVATE AMERICAN HOSPITAL in ROME......I travel a lot but getting fills aren't a problem. I have lost 110 pounds and in 3 yrs. I have also did some plastic surgery TT, and next week a Lipo job on my thighs and hips because that fat is stubborn....WISH ME LUCK...If anyone can give me any do's or don't in lipo let me know.....THe TT cost was 5,000.00 and the extreme lipo will be 4.000 .......the flight is also included.

I thought I just responded to this, but I'll try again. At the time of the original post, I was still recovering from surgery, so I guess I wasn't very vigilant.

... Monterrey is a very rich city. Almost everyone we saw were businessmen (population is much more "Spanish-Mexican" than "Indian Mexican).

...My ONLY complaint was ONE nurse (out of many) who had very poor English skills. Everyone else spoke fluent english.

...I'm a Harvard educated lawyer from NYC ...

Hmmm. And I would have guessed Bob Jones University.

Sue

:::just Indian enough to have collected on a ratified but ignored treaty. And one other thing for any less visible racists out there...in case you, too, don't like Mexicans (almost all of whom have Indian blood unless they are simply Spanish immigrants to Mexico, which would make them...you know...SPANIARDS)...Rumbaut is not a native Mexican. He was born in Venezuela of Cuban parents and he went to junior high in Ohio. Then again...the name "Ohio" comes from an from an Iroquoian word meaning “great river.” Damned indians, they're just everywhere.:::

I am considering Dr. G. Sanchez Vidrio in Tijuana, Mexico. I haven't seen his name on this site at all. I researched a bunch and I am getting nervous about not seeing his name mentioned!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
