So I've survived ONE entire week banded!!! After 7 long days of GAS and recovery, I'm feeling GREAT!!! Thank the stars above!!! I'm still adapting to the shakes/broths/fluid thing. Didn't know that a Multivitamin right away! Duh! I read a bit ago that someone was taking calcium! Am I supposed to be taking that too? With the gas gone, I am able to feel a. Lil hungry here and there. I've added bananas to my shakes and have been eating some Soup. (so far so good, when eaten at a moderate pace!) I've failed to pay attention recently to the lifting of my child and I'm paying for it! OUCH!! (the largest of the incisions s feeling kinda achy) I have to admit I've purchased my first SCALE!!! lol and amazingly I'm down 15 lbs from my surgery date!!! This is picking up and becoming so much more positive!! Maybe even fun!! Lol thank you to all of the support and shared information!!

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One week too girl! I feel normal for once! I'm ready to shop for clothes, but how long does the swelling go down???

Down 21lbs and see it in my face, but I dunno about my body. I'm not hungry yet. However I can tell my appetite is picking up a little. I've drinking my shakes, eating Soup and had a little chili yesterday. I've been on Multivitamins before the surgery. I feel so good! *dances*.

Me too! I am one week, one day post op. I don't miss last weeks pains AT ALL!! It was tolerable, but at times very painful. I take Tylenol (liquid) as needed if I feel uncomfortable and aching. I've noticed that this week that I still do have lots of pain, but it is not an excurciating like last week. I'm still trying do the following: WALK,BREATHE and SIP. That was an absoulute must last week, this week I've focused more on pushing liquids, due to the fact I can feel when I haven't had enough, my body lets me know instantly..I feel BAD!! So today, that has been it, DRINK, DRINK, more drink!!

I'm reading others post, I am assuming everybody has to follow what their MD has suggested that they do...especailly when it comes to stages in food. Mine seems totally different, in a good way of coarse. It is laid out in weeks and very detailed to what you can have. I'm still on liquids only, soft food doesn't start until next Friday, September 16th, and boy oh boy, I am looking forward to eating!! That will be the first time since my two week pre-op liquid diet! Thank GOD thats over!!

Well look forward to chatting with everyone on this forum, have a goodnite!!

I haven't ate anything yet, BUT GasX has been a great friend of mine. My MD said I could take it...so give it a try..ONLY if it is ok by your MD to take it.

Girlfriend..make sure to walk, breahte (use the incentive spirometer), and sip...walking will make a HUGE difference, I promise!!!

The reason I said "Sry I made a mistake"....I just got started, very very new here, and didn't know how to reply to a message. This is kinda confusing, but getting used to it slowly!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
