major success with the band!!!!

Recommended Posts

SOOOOO today i saw a client of mine (who i havent seen in a while) who had the band put on last may... and i swwwweaaar i had to do a tripple take she lost so much weight (maybe like 70+ lbs). I was in shock! I was so happy to see her bc it just confirmed my notion that thiiis thing reaally works.

I mean i know the band works...but sometimes i get so discouraged reading on these sights about how people have a hard time loosing the weight and/or are having problems...

i was sooo happy all day i was beaming ear to ear. I just know this was the best thing i could have ever done for myself health wise and not to mention it gives me hope to be able to sqqqquuuuueeeeezze into a bridesmaid dress in september!

* randddddom side note- i was so pissed when i bought the dress in the first place being plus size and all- finding out they only made the dress UP TO a size 16! i mean what the heck is that all about? If i wasnt planning on having the surgery or loosing the weight somehow i probably wouldnt have even been able to be in my friends wedding. I was soooo pissed about that and still am!

It's good to hear the success stories. I hope to be banded in April and am concerned that I my be a turtle. You've done well with your 23 lb weight loss. When were you banded? Stay focused and keep up the good work, you'll have to have that dress made smaller in no time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
