Another Question :)

Recommended Posts

I was banded on August 22nd and everything has been going great. I had very little gas issues; but, I started walking, using Gas X, and a heating pad as soon as I got home. However, two weeks later I have sharp pain in my left shoulder and the left side of my neck. The pain is definitely worse in my neck. In addition, I have been losing steadily until the day before yesterday when I gained a pound back. I talked to the Dr's office today and she said cut some of my calories out, but I am only getting about 800/cal a day and I walk about 1.5 miles a day. I am getting all of my Protein and Water. Is this all normal or am I doing something wrong?

Up your Protein & Water. You have to consume calories to lose weight. Many on here lose www.myfitnesspal.com website or app for calorie counting and support. But I think u need more calories

I think you need more calories too.... Also, a chiropractor visit could really help that shoulder and neck gas pain. Do you get the pain while eating? Some people have the shoulder pain as a signal that they're full....

Catherine,

You sound so much like me. I want to see that scale moving down every day. WE women have to realize that our bodies are crazy. That one pound could have just been Fluid that day. I was banded 4 weeks ago and I weigh every day. I was losing 1/2 to 1 pound a day. Then all of a sudden, I went for days without losing a thing. I was getting pretty upset. Then all of a sudden, I stepped on the scale and it was down 2 pounds overnite. I agree with everyone else. Sometimes I have to kick up the food intake a little to jumpstart my metabolism then bring it back down. Water is critical too!! Stay focused and remember we didnt gain all the weight overnite and it wont come off overnite either.

Be strong and stay committed!!

I get sharp shoulder pain if I over eat. Feels like someone stabbed a knife into my left shoulder. I weigh everyday but I don't worry to much unless I go more than a week without loosing. Shoot if I weigh myself after working I usually gain 2 to 4 lbs, but it's gone when I wake up :) Don't let the scale control ur mood let how good u feel do that!

I was also getting about the same calories you are at that stage of my journey. Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time and with the same clothing... naked first thing in the morning works best for me. But I am a scale addict and I weigh myself at night too.... and there is a 3-4 lbs difference in the 2 numbers. Sometimes I noticed a gain in the first few months but by the next day it was gone. Remember you are still healing now... its takes a few months to fully recover from surgery.
