KristinaMarie32 0 Posted September 7, 2011 Hi all! My name is Kristina and I was banded August 24th. Starting weight was 239 and I am down to 225 so 14 lbs. as of today! I am very excited about my life! These first two weeks have had their ups and downs. I have been extremely sore and very weak but I think that it could be partly due to I am having to take 40 mg. injectable blood thinner (Lovanex) twice a day for a month after surgery Just so ready to be able to get my life started again!! Hope you all are having a nice evening!! Kristina

rn2012 6 Posted September 7, 2011 How are the injections going? I wasnt to thrilled to learn that once i have to do the surgery I also have to use Lovenox. Are your needles already prefilled or do you draw it up yourself

Are your needles already prefilled or do you draw it up yourself Hi! Thanks all for the kind words! And yes, the needles are luckily pre-filled and quite easy to give! Just twice a day in my belly. I am having to do them for an entire month after my surgery (2 weeks left!). They do make me feel a little weak & tired, but better that than a blood clot! Good luck to you and let me know if you need any advice!
DRCS 2 Posted September 7, 2011 Hi congratulations! Why are you both having to do the injections of Lovenox? I hadn't heard of anyone doing them before. I know that they are for blood clots but was it because of problems that you had pre-surgery or just a precaution? Hi! Thanks all for the kind words!
