I was banded on 8/31 as well. Still have gas pain in my shoulder and back. Was finally able to sleep in my bed somewhat normal without sitting up lastinight. Feeling better every day. Funny thing is i dont feel hungry AT ALL. I have stuck to the Protein drinks, broth, Jello, Water..etc...My biggest problem right now (besides the shoulder pain) is Constipation. Have not gone # 2 since before surgery :/

I have not gone either. I went and got some laxatives today. Hopefully it will take care of itself tomorrow.

The thing that helped my gas pains was a good chiropractic adjustment.

I have used the gas x strips says to use 2-4 at a time and I have had success. My surgery was 9/1 , and as far as the walking... it really does get the gas moving and out. I was just walking around in circles in the house but yesterday I ventured to the mailbox (1/2 block away) and I swear I was a tooting mess for a 1/2 hour. I am amazed as I watch TV how many food commercials are on the TV. I find the Jello, popsicles and borth do fill me though. I don't worry about how many popsicles I just have them until the growling subsides. I am down 11 lbs so for since Thurdsay. Planning on a double walk to the mailbox now. I hope you feel relief soon, and yes YOU ARE WORTH IT!

It was 5 days after surgery before I had a BM. Think about it, you aren't eating anything solid, so your body has nothing to form into waste product. Just don't strain the first time you go, you don't want to end up with hemorroids. Plus it'll hurt your incisions!

How is everyone feeling? I am well... just taking it day by day. I am not feeling banded. I mean, I can eat pretty much what I want, (sticking to the rules of corse) I have only ate too fast once and I ended up paying for it all afternoon. My stomach hurt and I felt like I needed to burp really bad. I have my first fill scheduled for the 12th of Oct. and I am sure it is going to be different after that. Just wondering how everyone is doing! Hope all is well!

I was also banded on sept 22, and the gas pain is very uncomfortable!!! Thank God its the only pain ive felt!! I have the urge to burp, but nothing comes out! Frustrating, but I don't regret it a bit! Asking God for patience and to keep me from any harms! Oh, and the constipation.... Ive tried milk of magnesia and benefiber for 2 days, so far, nothing! Help, anyone?!?!

I was looking at taking this for Constipation that I have had since surgery any one else having this problem or any other idea of what to do. I have been taking MOM and it takes a dose and a half before anything happens.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
