cosmetic surgery after Lap band surgery

Recommended Posts

I have lost approx 125 lbs, my stomach looks like alot of flab, seen a liposuction dr. and he says i need Tummy Tuck and not liposuction....I have read in some places that liposuction works as well and don't have the discomfort and cost of tummy tuck. Has anyone out there experience this>

Unfortunately, liposuction will only remove fat from under the skin, it will not remove skin. I can tell you first hand that a TT is well worth the recovery. Listen to your surgeon..

I had some Lipo before my Tummy Tuck and like everyone says it won't get rid of the skin. Lipo is kind of like a fast way to lose some weight/fat but with the skin still there, it won't help much with the trying to get a nice body.

I would do some lipo with a tummy tuck together in a surgery.

Plastic surgery isn't bad in itself. I think the issue is people's attitudes to it...."just a nip here" or "a tuck there" or "a bit of this added/removed" as if it's the butchers/fishmongers! It is still major surgery, and carries all the usual risks! It 's as though some people think because they are doing it for vanity, it automatically becomes"not so serious"

Its ok not to want to show the ravages of time and look as good as you can but I'd rather take care of what I have to make it last longer! And as for enhancement...I 'll go for making the best of my good bits...perfection is an illusion!

Well, i agree with that totally, but it doesnt change the fact that those imperfections really do get to us.

The fact is, liposuction is serious surgery with significant risk, so it is not safer than a tt. If youre going to do anything, you may as wellick the option that will give you really good results, Lipo is designed to augment and enhance a Tummy Tuck, not be a substitute.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
