When my band was placed (10cc band), it did not have any saline in it. At my two week check up, my Dr put 2cc in it. I did not feel much restriction at all. I could eat the same day, I have only lost two pounds the past two weeks since the fill. I am going in for another fill tomorrow and I am hoping he will put a lot more saline in there. I have read that it normally takes about 5 to 7 cc to get to the green zone so I am going to ask him to at least put three more in there. I know this is a process and that I should be patient but I paid 12 grand for this and I want my "tool" to start helping me! I have gotten out of the practice of chewing vigorously b/c it hasn't been needed. Hopefully things will work out and I will reach this blissful green zone I've been reading about and not be so hungry anymore. Wish me luck!! :D

Good for you!

Glad to hear you are feeling a little more restriction.

I was banded 6.1 , then had a 5cc fill 6 weeks later. I am having my second fill 9.6 and I am hoping to get 3cc more.

At 5cc I only felt restriction for about 2 days. Then poof- nothing....

I am so looking forward to finding that "green zone" or whatever, because I haven't lost much weight since the last fill. My clothes is much looser from my exercise, but I want to see it on the scale... And like you said, I spent $15 K and I want my results. cool.gif

But something is working because I have dropped 4 sizes since I started this process.

Best of luck to you and take care!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
