How much fill in a 14cc band

Recommended Posts

I have 7.25 in a 14cc band. My current doc thinks that is enough but I dont think so. I was banded 11 months ago and have only lost 45lbs. In the last 6 months I haveonly lost 10of that amount.

The doc who did my surgery wanted to bring me to at least 8 but I moved and had to use the only doc in my new town now.

So, how much does everyone else have in this size band?

Everyone differs on how much they have/need in their band. So asking people isn't going to change if YOU feel if you need more. Read the thread in the post op forum about the green zone to decide if you need a fill. I personally have 0.75 ml (probably more like one with the teeny bit that was in there that the band came with.). Am I hungry between meals, yep, but I've decided to do it my own way and see what works for me. In fact I plateaued and had to start eating mor to lose, something Iay not have been able to do if my band was tight.

So figure out what works for you and if you feel like you need a fill get one and don't let you're doc tell you know (unless you're pbing or vomitting or getting stuck, then please do not get one)

I also have a 14cc band, I'm still trying to find the best zone but I'm getting there. 5cc felt like nothing and I was gaining weight, received a 1cc fill to 6cc and had many issues that didn't start until 5-6 days after. I started to have heartburn, reflux at night and could only eat soft foods. I lost weight during this time but needed to eat solid food. My doctor removed .5cc so now I'm at 5.5cc and it seems a lot better.

Hi, I have an 11cc band, was banded oct.2009 and to date have lost 70lbs. I am filled at 9.75 and thought something was wrong because I'm filled so tight but works for me.

My Dr said I am the tightest patient filled out of an 11 cc band. I had an upper GI and all went down. It all varies with each individual. Good Luck

I have a 14cc band. i was banded one year ago tomorrow. I currently have 10cc in my band. It took several months to get there, but everyone is different. REMEMBER, the band is a tool that has to be used properly, not a magic wand!

Keep at it and you will see results!

Good luck, everyone!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
