ADifferentAlli 0 Posted August 29, 2011 I was banded Feb 28th. Very underwhelming results....only lost 30 lbs. Anyhoo my port happens to be in the wrong spot and although they can still access it ...it qualifies as needing revision thru my insurance . My doc has offered to add plication while doing the revision on the port. I would have to pay out of pocket for some but way cheaper than adding it seperately. Seems like that might be the best option since the band doesnt seem to be working for me and insurance won't cover another option for two years. Anyone with banded plication feel like sharing ur results?

Anyone with banded plication feel like sharing ur results? So far so good for me but im only 2 weeks post op. I just started eating soft food today and I can tell you I cant eat much at all and I only have 2 ccs in my band. First thing I ate was scrabled eggs and I could only get down half of one egg. Of course they say it will get to be more soon but I feel my stomach size is much much smaller and it just fills up very fast. Its crazy. I had about 2 tablespoons of curried chicken, 1 tablespoon hummus and 2 teaspoons cottage cheese for dinner and I was full. Not overly full but I can tell I didnt want anymore. Im the type of guy that used to eat at least a full plate for dinner too. At least 8oz of meat among other things.

Short and Chunky 230 Posted August 30, 2011 Alli: I was banded on 7/7/11 and had plication at the same time. I feel GREAT. I am down 46 pounds and dropping- now, I am only loosing 2-3 pounds per week but I am dropping (lost 16 pounds the first week - too much too fast). I had a longer recovery than tradditional lapband - instead of 2-3 days it was more like 7-9 days but now I feel wonderful. I have had 2 fills - one was 2 cc and the second was 1 cc. Both were done in August. I am eating and not getting too hungry (I do get hungry between lunch and dinner - but that is just me). I have not had any slimming or anything getting stuck..in fact I really don't feel anything or any different than I did 6 months ago, just smaller (and happy about that). The doctor I used is in Jacksonville, Florida and he is one of only a few who do lapband with plication - in fact, I was in his "study group" so they are following me a bit closer so he can complete the study. GOod luck with your decision. I am glad I chose both and have never looked back. Here's to a skinner you ! Melinda
